Andre Lott Back in the Fold

The Redskins re-signed safety Andre Lott, maintaining their depth in the defensive backfield.

Lott started three games this past season after Matt Bowen was injured and fared well. But he suffered a pectoral tear and landed on injured reserve. He's slated for backup duty behind Bowen and free safety Sean Taylor.

Lott was a fifth-round pick in 2002 from Tennessee. He's also a solid special teamer.

He's the third player to re-sign in the past two days, with defensive ends Ron Warner and Demetric Evans having come to terms on Thursday. Both likely will be reserves, though each played well when starter Philllip Daniels was hurt.
