Monday Mania Report

There were some serious eyes cast on the quarterbacks at the combines in Indianapolis and the workout of Joey Harrington drew raving reviews. The Insiders have learned that numerous NFL team personnel members in attendance came away impressed with Harrington.

"He looked better than David Carr and many eyes opened up when he was able to throw all the passes and with authority," the source said. "He (Harrington) may not be a big as Carr, but he throws a nice ball and is worthy of being the first quarterback taken."

The Redskins met with Harrington and also came away very impressed, according to The Insiders sources.

More Florida Flair!: Alex Brown from the University of Florida is a name that has been thrown about, especially with Bruce Smith advancing in age and if the Redskins release Marco Coleman after June 1st, The Insiders have learned.

More Defensive Help!: Speculation is brewing that defensive tackle Sam Adams recently released by the Baltimore Ravens would like to reunite with defensive coordinator Marvin Lewis. Adams is rumored to want to play somewhere that he has an opportunity to win another Super Bowl.

What better a place than with the Redskins and where better to get a final shot at the Ravens organization.

WR's a plenty: Head coach Steve Spurrier has shown already that he maintains a certain loyalty to players that he coached while at Florida. Having already signed wide receivers Reidel Anthony and Chris Doering and quarterback Danny Wuerffel. Spurrier is close to acquiring quarterback Shane Matthews from Chicago and will be looking at wide receiver Willie Jackson in the next few days.

Drew or Not?: The Redskins have backed off their interest in New England quarterback, Drew Bledsoe. The Insiders have learned that the Redskins are not willing to trade a first round draft choice for the 30-year old quarterback.
