Blake to visit

Free agent quarterback Jeff Blake said Thursday that he is scheduled to visit Washington, perhaps arriving tonight. However, it appears Buffalo might have an edge in trying to sign Blake.

Blake played for new Bills offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride as a freshman at East Carolina University.

''He has a good offensive mind and does a good job using his talent,'' said Blake, who spent the past two years in New Orleans. ''He's one of the reasons I didn't hesitate to come [to Buffalo]. I'm not concerned with a system as much as I am with the offensive coordinator.''

Also, Blake's agent is friendly with Buffalo GM Tom Donahoe.

Still, Blake said he'll fly to Washington tonight, anticipating a meeting with owner Daniel Snyder and coach Steve Spurrier.

Blake said he hopes to be signed soon.
