Redskins Sign, Promote, Allocate

The Redskins announced the signings of 18 players today, some of whom will play in NFL Europe this summer.

The Redskins signed 18 players today, allocating five to NFL Europe, including a couple players who were in camp this past summer.

They allocated running back Jonathan Combs, receivers Steven Harris, Antonio Brown, and Richard Smith, kicker Tyler Jones, defensive back Aric Williams and tight end Calen Powell. They also signed offensive lineman Jon Alston, who spent time on the Redskins' practice squad this past season.

Also, on Thursday the Redskins promoted Bill Lazor to the position of quarterbacks coach. He replaces Bill Musgrave, who took a similar position with Atlanta earlier this week. Lazor has served as an offensive assistant the past two years. Lazor spent one season in Atlanta as an offensive assistant.
