Redskins Notes 10.04.06--Dale Lindsey took a jab at his former charge today, plus the latest injury news from Redskins Park.
…Corner Shawn Springs (groin) did not practice and is listed as doubtful, but he already strongly hinted last week that he would not return until possibly the Tennessee game on Oct. 15. Springs is not officially ruling himself out for the Giants' game, but it's highly unlikely. He did not practice.
But defensive tackle Joe Salave'a (calf) did practice. He's listed as probable, though he was also probable last week and did not play.
For the Giants, running back Derrick Ward (foot), receiver Sinorice Moss (quad), linebacker Carlos Emmons (pec) are out; safety James Butler (knee) and linebacker LaVar Arrington (knee) are probable.
…Speaking of Arrington, he was obviously a main topic at Redskins Park today. And he didn't even talk yet to Giants' reporters. But his old linebackers coach Dale Lindsey said, when asked what kind of help Arrington could provide about Washington's defense, ‘'None. He didn't know anything when he was here, what makes you think he'll know something up there?''
Lindsey is as honest as they come and was more than ready for the question.
Earlier in the day, corner Shawn Springs said the same thing as Lindsey, ‘'He didn't know all of the defense when he was here.'' Springs tried to backtrack a bit.
…Receiver Santana Moss was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week after catching three touchdown passes against Jacksonville. It's the third time he's won the award in his 20 games with the Redskins.
