Springs to IR, Rumph cut

As expected Shawn Springs was placed in injured reserve, but another unexpected move saw another veteran cornerback removed from the roster

The Redskins placed corner Shawn Springs (shoulder) on injured reserve today and cut corner Mike Rumph. Springs will finish his third Redskins season having missed seven games. Rumph was never a factor after being acquired for receiver Taylor Jacobs in a trade with San Francisco in August.

The Redskins signed defensive backs John Eubanks and Leigh Torrence to the active roster.

As for players who missed practice, linebacker Khary Campbell (hamstring) and safety Troy Vincent (illness) are listed as questionable and probable, respectively. Tackle Jon Jansen (calf) and center Casey Rabach (hand) also are probable.

For New York, lineman Rich Seubert (shin) and tight end Jeremy Shockey (ankle) are listed as doubtful and questionable, respectively. Fullback Jim Finn (back) is probable. None practiced today.
