Washington cut receiver Reidel Anthony, fullback Thad Buttone, defensive tackle Tim Engelhardt, kicker Jamie Rheem, receiver Emmett Johnson, lineman Wayne Smith and running back Jimmy Watkins.
Anthony is the only name player, but the move wasn't a surprise. As we told you in The Whisper Room last week, Anthony was a goner. He had not stood out this preseason and others, such as Chris Doering and Derrius Thompson, had done more.
