On how he feels today:
"I feel a little sore, but better than I did last night. I got more strength in my hand today."
On how relieved he feels that it is not a long term injury:
"I'm really relieved. We're going pretty hard in the preseason, and as a defense we're starting to go where we want to go. I'd hate to have to miss any regular season games, but it feels good to know that I won't be down too long."
On whether it was a sigh of relief to know he would be okay:
"When I first did it, and got caught up between a couple of helmets, my hand went numb on me. When I came up from the pile it was real disfigured because it was out of place. But when we got in, took x-rays, popped it back in, and told me everything was going to be fine, I felt good."
On today's rehab:
"I really couldn't do a whole lot today. I'm just trying to get a little more movement in it so that it won't get so stiff. I'm trying to get the swelling down by icing it, but nature has to take its course, and there is not a lot I can do right now."
On whether this injury worries him considering that he has been plagued by injuries:
"Not really. I knew I was hurt when it first happened, but I didn't think it was anything to serious once they told me what was wrong."
On going from an iron-man to being plagued by injuries:
"I'm trying to make my push for the Ed Block Courage Award. I think I have a pretty good chance this year, but honestly I feel good and injuries happen when your going full speed, which is a good thing because everyone is flying around."
