Open Locker Room: Jason Campbell

Jason Campbell answered questions today for the media. Here is a transcript:

On the bye week:

"It was great. It was very relaxing. I had the opportunity to get healed up a little bit and get ready for this week and Detroit."

On getting the whole week off:

"I can't complain with Coach Gibbs' decision. We had a lot of guys banged up and a lot of guys that needed it and needed to get rested up. We have thirteen straight weeks in a row. The one thing you want to be at this point in time is healthy. I think we had the opportunity to get a lot of guys rested."

On how he feels about getting back to work:

"I'm anxious to get back to work. A couple of days off is nice, but watching Monday Night Football you feel lonely. You feel like you aren't involved. We are anxious to get back to playing."

On the addition of Reche Caldwell (WR, # 86) and Keenan McCardell (WR, #80):

"There is always something you are going to have to adjust to. You have to be use to adjusting. At the same time, when you are playing in the NFL you never know what is going to happen. You always have to be ready. I think those are two great receivers that they brought in. They have been very successful where they have been; Keenan in San Diego and Reche with the Patriots. They are guys that have had a lot of experience and played in the league for awhile."

On the sour taste in his mouth after losing to the Giants:

"It took about four or five days, but it's gone. At some point you have to realize that it is time to move on. You can't get stuck in the past. You can't change it. No matter how bad you think about it or whatever you do over the past couple of days, you can't go back and re-play it. The only thing you can do is move on and get ready for this week. Detroit is an outstanding team coming in and they just put up 34 points yesterday in the fourth quarter to beat the Chicago Bears so it's definitely going to be a challenge."

On any predictions he has for the offense:

"You never know what kind of game it is going to be. A lot of times when people expect a lot of points to be scored, there aren't many points scored or sometimes it's just the

opposite. We have to concentrate on what we need to do offensively and defensively to get better and worry about ourselves."

On Santana Moss (WR, #89):

"Hopefully we can get him back for this week, but if he can't go we all understand. You don't want an injury to be nagging you all year long, especially when you are dealing with that kind of injury. Hopefully we can get him back, but if not we understand because we want him to be at his best."

On Detroit's momentum:

"You look at a team, and they have a swagger about themselves. They are very confident with what they are doing and they are playing together as a unit. You can tell they aren't the same team as last season and that's the one thing you have to do. They came into the season with a goal, same as we did. We all put our bad seasons behind us from last season. I think they are doing an outstanding job right now, being 3-1. They are steadily getting better."
