...LB London Fletcher (foot), DTs Kedric Golston (foot) and Cornelius Griffin (shoulder) and DE Andre Carter (foot) did not practice. LB Marcus Washington already is out.
...The Redskins are highly concerned about Fletcher. Coach Jim Zorn said if he can't practice Friday then that spells trouble about his status for Sunday.
...Golston wasn't sure about his status, but said his foot had improved. He walked with a crutch on Tuesday, but needed only a walking boot Wednesday. He played with the injury, but said he felt it big-time.
...H.B. Blades would take over for Fletcher. Blades has a knack for getting to the ball, but he's smaller and not as fast as Fletcher. This would be trouble against a powerful front.
...Apparently, the Zorns serve a mean smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. So says Ryan Plackemeier who once ate at Zorn's house in Seattle. But don't credit Zorn. As he said, "We have a smoked turkey; I don't make a smoked turkey."
...A sad day for the beat reporters: former Newport News Daily Press beat reporter Warner Hessler died of cancer Tuesday night. He was beloved by those who worked alongside him, as I did. He was very knowledgeable about the game and was very personable. Though he hadn't covered the beat since 2003, he was often thought of and missed. Hessler was 66.
...A visitor made his way to Redskins Park and somehow wandered to the sidelines during practice, where he threw a ball on the field. He was later escorted away. Guess this is what happens when you get rid of the security detail at Redskins Park.
