The fact that the Redskins officially named Kyle Shanahan the Offensive Coordinator today should come as a shock to no one. In addition to being the Head Coach's son, the Texans' offense ranked first in the NFL this past season in passing yards. They also ranked fourth in over all yards.
It is believed that Matt LaFleur became Shanahan's right hand man at some point and could have helped in coaching The Texans' QB's to that first over all yardage slot.
Jon Embree has eighteen 18 years of college and NFL combined coaching experience. Embree was also the Assistant Head Coach and Passing Game Coordinator for three years at UCLA under Coach Karl Dorell. He also coached Tony Gonzales for three years at Kansas City. In addition, the Colorado Alumni has quite a following at his Alma Mater where many students have asked for him to be brought in as a Head Coach of their football program.
