One CFU receiver who surprised was Jimmy Fryzel. Branded a "possession receiver" Fryzel turned in a 4.47 with 10 and 20 splits of 1.62 and 2.53 respectively. Impressive was Fryzel's 36.5 vertical jump and the 19 repetitions he performed on the bench. His top weight on the bench is over 400-pounds.
Asante Samuel turned in an average 4.53-forty with a 36.5 vertical jump. What impressed scouts was Samuel's hip movement and many told us he has the rare ability to "flip his hips" transitioning to run with receivers.
Defensive lineman Elton Patterson measured in at 6-1.5/268 then ran a 4.90-forty, completed 27 reps on the bench press, topped 32 inches for the vertical and 9-2 on the broad. The consensus is Patterson has the frame to comfortably carry 290-pounds and will most likely be used inside at tackle thanks to his quickness.
Offensive lineman Brian Huff turned in a 5.24-forty at 6-5.5/296 pounds and completed 27 reps on the bench. His 4.46 20-yard shuttle was also pretty good. The Browns put Huff through a big workout after the athletic testing.
Finally, we were notified that quarterback Ryan Schneider, who will lead the Knights next season, is in top shape and looked better than he ever has during spring practice.
The workout took place on grass.
