Saints Bucs Week 9 Game Preview

This week the New Orleans Saints (3-4) travel to Florida to face the defending Superbowl champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have struggled this season with injuries and some uninspired play. The Saints meanwhile have not yet been able to put together a solid winning streak. Both teams need this victory in order to remain in the playoff hunt, or to have any hope of catching Carolina for the divisional title.

When the Saints have the ball:

Tampa Bay is hurting in the secondary. A returning Donte Stallworth and a hot Aaron Brooks should benefit the Saints in this match up. They need to be carefull to feed the ball to McAllister though in order to keep the Bucs line, and Simeon Rice honest.

When the Buccaneers have the ball:

Running on the Saints can be done, the only question is can Tampa Bay do it. They will likely be playing without Joe Jurevicius so Keyshawn Johnson will need to make most of the plays in the passing game. Michael Pittman will need to have the biggest day though.

Prediction: Tampa will try and slow it down, the Saints will try and generate some big plays. I still like Tampa better in almost every phase of the game but this one should be close and higher scoring then most people expect. Tampa Bay 27-23.
