The former first round pick in the 1998 draft by Kansas City will have to miss the first game of the season because of suspension. The suspension was handed down after Riley violated the league's personal conduct policy.
In May of 2001, Riley was charged with felony counts of aggrivated assault, criminal damage to property, and misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.
Riley also is coming off of a broken leg which he suffered in week 5 and didn't see action until the Chief's final game. He's a very talented player and has the size(6'5", 328) and strength the Saints are looking for to bolster there O-Line.
This signing comes a week after the Saints signed RT Spencer Folau from Miami. It looks like Folau will play RT for one game and then move to RG for the entire season. The Saints' offensive line will now look like this:
