What don't you know about Sedrick Ellis? Check this out:

1. He has a pair of solid USC connections to lean on in New Orleans. Naturally, Saints fans know about RB Reggie Bush, who played with Ellis. But the Saints employ former Trojans defensive line coach Ed Orgeron. Guess he might have had a little input into the Saints' decision.

2. Former USC center Ryan Kalil, on Sedrick Ellis: "He's an unbelievable football player. He made me so much better because I had to block him every day...He's so strong, so man-strong. He's just a good player."

3. Ellis was pretty darn dominant his senior year. Forget his stats. Just look at his honors. He was named the 2007 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year (USC's fifth such selection) and Pac-10 Morris Trophy winner (for the second year in a row), he was a unanimous choice on the 2007 All-Pac-10 first team and he made the All-Pac-10 first team, All-Pac-10 first team (he was its Pac-10 Player of the Year), All-Pac-10 first team and Phil Steele's All-Pac-10 first team. He was USC's Co-MVP and also won USC's Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year Award and Co-Lifter of the Year Award.

4. The Trojans had to make some accommodations for Ellis' weightlifting prowess. According to the Orange County Register, Ellis was the strongest person on the 2007 Trojans and only the third player under Pete Carroll's Trojan tenure to lift over 500 pounds. But he had only started lifting weights since he was 15 (6 years as of 2007) because his father would not allow him to lift at a younger age. In addition to benching a team-best 510 lb, at the 2007 spring pro day Ellis hoisted 225 lb 42 times. Because of his strength, the Trojans had to purchase a set of 200-pound dumbbells for their weight room just to accommodate him (the previous high were 160s); Ellis would do sets of eight reps on the incline bench with the 200s.

5. He's a dog lover. According to the Seattle Times, Ellis has a pet Rottweiler named Junior.

6. Ellis, on what he wants to do after football: "Hopefully I can open up some restaurants, maybe a bar or two. Just kind of relax and watch some easy money come in."

7. Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel. Jessica Alba.
