Saints sign underrated QB to deal

Saintsinsider.com has confirmed that the New Orleans Saints have signed this former Pac-10 quarterback to a contract, even though the Saints have not released the information. Find out who just joined Drew Brees in this exclusive article.

Saintsinsider.com has confirmed through a league source that Stanford QB T.C. Ostrander has signed a free-agent deal with the New Orleans Saints.

Ostrander (6-2, 227 pounds) should be in New Orleans for the Saints' rookie camp next week.

Ostrander succeeded current Buffalo quarterback Trent Edwards as the starter for the Cardinal in 2007, playing in eight games and making five starts. He suffered a seizure after the Arizona State game that forced him to miss four other games.

He did throw for a career best 1,422 yards on 130-of-229 attempts, with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. He threw for more than 200 yards in each of his first four games in 2007 and two touchdown passes in two of his first three starts.

He is the only rookie QB the Saints have signed so far. The Saints have starter Drew Brees, plus backups Mark Brunell and Tyler Palko, on their roster.
