Saints sign SEC LB to contract

Saintsinsider.com has confirmed that the New Orleans Saints have signed this former SEC linebacker, who has a national championship ring, to a contract, even though the Saints have not released the information. Find out who he is in this exclusive article.

Saintsinsider.com has confirmed through a league source that LSU linebacker Luke Sanders has signed a free-agent deal with the New Orleans Saints.

Sanders (6-4, 244 pounds) should be in New Orleans for the Saints' rookie camp next week.

Sanders helped the LSU Tigers win a BCS National Championship in January.

He played in all 13 games last season, making 10 starts at Buck linebacker. He made 28 tackles, with 1 ½ for loss and a ½ sack. He also registered five quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He had a season-high five tackles against Arkansas. He also had four tackles in two other games.

Sanders joins a position group that is teeming with talent now after the acquisitions of Jonathan Vilma and Dan Morgan during the offseason.
