Seahawks Place G Max Unger on IR

The Seattle Seahawks placed second-year guard Max Unger on season-ending injured reserve

The Seattle Seahawks have placed guard Max Unger on season-ending injured reserve, John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports.

Mansfield Wrotto has been re-signed to take Unger's place on the 53-man roster.

Unger was the Seahawks' second-round pick (48th overall) in 2009, and the former University of Oregon standout started all 16 games last season, including the final three at center.

Unger injured the big toe on his left foot during the 2010 season-opener, but played through the pain.

"He (Unger) hurt it early in the game, his big toe, and he just toughed it out," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Monday.

Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has been reinstated from his one-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Cornerback Kennard Cox was released to clear a spot on the roster for Hill

Seattle's practice squad was also shuffled, with cornerback Cord Parks replacing cornerback Ross Weaver.
