Day one of Mini Camp done.

The Seattle Seahawks finished day one of their three-day mandatory mini camp. More than 84 players attended the session including drafted rookies. The mini camp gives coaches and players to reacquaint and in some cases see for the first time the Hawks playbook.

Overall Observations:

There seem to be a crisp and fresh attitude about the team. Players seem focused and serious about the business at hand. Change of personnel during scrimmages is done efficiently crisp. No doubt the defense seems focused as a unit.

When second and third string quarterbacks miss read the coverage or thru a not so perfect pass they paid for it with an interception by the defense.

Player observations:

Marcus Trufant Cornerback first round draft pick, he will be wearing number 23.

Has speed to burn. The man can fly. Although he is a rookie he seemed comfortable with his surroundings.

Player quotes

" It's crazy out there I got here early and decided to just walk around and check out the surroundings, I am trying to stay focused and do what I got to do".

Ken Hamlin, S.  2nd round Pick ,  not as fast as Trufant but brings heart and soul.

Looks to be a quick understudy that should make the team and contribute right away.

Player quotes,

" I have to learn the defense, I am going to take one game at a time, I am bringing fire and heat, there are a lot of good receivers in this league and I am looking and ready for the challenge."

Norman Hand, DT acquired via draft day trade with New Orleans.

Hand looks a slim 310 pounds. Appears to know his position and should give the team much needed run stop support.

Player quotes,

" We will not be last in the league in stopping the run, I am in the best shape of my life, I feel good, this is the lightest I have ever been for a training camp, I still have a lot of football left in me and I am hoping the coaches give me a chanc
