Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and the Seahawks impresive finish last season has led to high expectations for the upcoming season.
"We expect to win our division, period, that's where we set our goals this year and beyond that, if you can win the division, you can do some special things. We're a young team but we've kind of been saying that for a while. Last year, things started to click for us and we started to go up. I think this could be a big year for us.",Hasselbeck said of the up coming season.
Hasselbeck started the last nine games of the season after Trent Dilfer suffered a torn achilles tendon in the Dallas game. Hasselbeck led the team to a five and four record. The team won it's last three games and Hasselbeck passed for over one-thousand yards in the three games. The late season success set the tone and high expectations for the 2003 season.
"Matt's had a chance to play now for two years and has taken his lumps and had some good things, but clearly he displayed the last seven games last year the ability to play at a high level." Head Coach Mike Holmgren said.
