Spartans Entertain Ohio Lineman

After winning the defensive line MVP award at the Best of the Midwest Combine in Indianapolis a few weeks ago, Pickerinton Central's DaVon Hamilton has seen his recruitment blow up. He visited Michigan State this past weekend.

Even though his film is as an offensive lineman at Pickerington (OH) Central, DaVon Hamilton has hit the recruiting radar as a defensive tackle prospect.

Hamilton, 6-foot-4, 290-pounds, was named as the defensive line MVP at the recent Best of the Midwest Combine in Indianapolis. Since then, schools have begun showing interest. Hamilton is fresh off a visit to Michigan State.

"Being at Michigan State was great," Hamilton stated. "I got to meet the coaching staff and they were all very impressive. Everything went great, and I learned about the history of the school. I saw the weight room and how they do everything. I also saw their academic center, and learned how they keep their athletes on track."

"The coaching staff certainly knows what they're doing, and I know they could make me a better football player if I were to go there," he added. "I did get a lot of one-on-one time with the coaches. They said they can't offer right now, because my film is at offensive tackle."

"They want me to come to their camp and work out in front of them," he continued. "I definitely want to do that, because Michigan State is a school I'd love to have an offer from."

Hamilton, who visited Kentucky last weekend, will be headed to Indiana next weekend to meet with the Hoosier coaching staff. will continue to track Hamilton's recruitment over the next year, and will report any offers he receives. Top Stories
