Travis Brown - odd man out

Who said you can't have too many quarterbacks? Second-year signal caller Travis Brown, from Northern Arizona hoped this theory would prove true. He spent most of last season on the Seahawks' practice squad and was promoted to the team's 53-man roster the final four weeks of the season to back up starter Jon Kitna after Brock Huard suffered a bruised kidney. …

The Seahawks have released Brown, which leaves four quarterbacks remaining on the roster: Matt Hasselbeck, Trent Dilfer, Brock Huard and rookie Josh Booty.

Brown's release comes a day after fullback Craig Walendy and tight end Billy Woodard were let go and last week, fullback Reggie Brown was released as well.

Eight players have exemptions until the final 53-man cut because they played in NFL Europe. On August 28, the team will have to trim their roster to 65 players. Top Stories
