Seahawks seek to continue improvements.

The Seattle Seahawks will take on the Indianapolis Colts on Friday at the RCA Dome. With training camp dwindling the game will provide another opportunity for players to show coaches what they can do in a real game. Here are some battles to watch.

Wide Receivers:

Koren Robinson, Darrel Jackson and Bobby Engram are locks. The battle is between James Williams and  Alex Bannister, for the fourth wide receiver position with Cedric Bonner and rookie Taco Wallace scrambling to make the roster any way they can.

Tight End:

With Itula Mili (right ankle) and Jeremy Stevens ( left ankle ) out for Friday's game,  third stringer Ryan Hannan will get his moment to shine

Offensive Line:

Left tackle Floyd Womack , left guard Steve Hutchinson,  and Center Robbie Tobeck and right tackle Chris Terry are starters for now with left Tackle Walter Jones still a no show.  Jerry Wunsch is the versatile back up.

Running Backs:

Look for Maurice Morris to continue to push for more playing time as a back up to Shaun Alexander.Fullback Mack Strong is steady but Heath Evans is getting restless.

Quarter Back:

Hasselbeck  will see about twenty plays worth and the battle between  Jeff Kelly and Seneca Wallace continues to be a barn burner and go down to the wire with Trent Dilfer continuing his recovery from an Achilles injury. Last week Wallace saw significantly more time than Kelly and impressed coaches with his running and passing. This week the roles could be reversed.

Defense

Defensive line:

Defensive Tackle Chad Eaton will be out 4-6 weeks because of surgery to his knee.

John Randell will be elevated to the starting  lineup with  Antonio Cochran,  Anton  Palepoi, Rocky Bernard, and  Norman Hand in the mix with projected Chike Okeafor slowed by  nagging injuries.

Linebackers:

Linebacker Chad Brown Randal Godfrey and Anthony Simmons practiced together for the first time all summer  on Wednesday.

"To have your starting linebackers is fun. Chad won't play until next week, and then the guys that are injured won't make the trip. So they'll stay back and get treatment. We'll take Chike on the trip, but he's a little questionable because his ankle is sore. We have two days before the game so we'll see how he feels." Miek Holmgren said of his starting linebacker unit.

With Orlando Huff injured  Marcus Bell, Isaiah Kacyvenski and D.D Lewis continue to push for starting playing time. Friday should help separate the pretenders from the contenders. Linebacker Tim Terry will not play on Friday and will spend the weekend in Seattle getting tested by team doctors.

Defensive Backs.

Ken Hamlin started at Free Safety against San Diego  and did not hurt his chances as  free agent Damien Robinson nurses a shoulder injury suffered in the Seahawks public scrimmage three weeks ago.

Reggie Tongue is a solid run stopper at Strong safety . Terreal Bierria is pushing Harold Blackmon for a roster spot.

Cornerbacks: Shawn Springs, Ken Lucas and Marcus Trufant are locks for the top three spots leaving Willie Willie Williams ,Doug Evans, Kris Richards and possibly  Walter Bernard  and Tony Scott  battling for two or three positions.
