Seahawks report card.

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-0 after their 24 to 23 win over the St. Louis Rams. Here is a last look at Sunday's win.

QUARTERBACKS: Matt Hasselbeck finished the game with  256 yards passing and two touchdowns. The Seahawks were off to their usual slow start and looked passive in the first half. Two fourth quarter touchdown passes that led to a dramatic come from behind  win, might give Hasselbeck the confidence he needs to reach his potential. Grade A

RUNNINGBACKS: Maurice Morris and Mack Strong filled in nicely for Alexander while he was helping his wife deliver their baby daughter.

While Strong and Morris rushed a total of 6 yards their blitz pick ups and receiving yards helped  keep the pressure off Hasselbeck. When Alexander arrived he gave the team a much needed lift with his legs ( 58 yard rushing) Grade A

RECEIVERS:  Koren Robinson exemplified the Seattle offense in the first half , none existent. While  Robinson was sleep walking the first half,  Darrell Jackson and Bobby Engram were picking up the slack. Robinson finished the day with 7 receptions 95 yards and one touchdown , all in the second half. GRADE  B

TIGHT ENDS:  Ituli Milli  started the game and caught two passes for 34 yards. Jeremy Stevens   saw more action than he did the previous game. The units run block was excellent. Grade B

OFFENSIVE LINE:  The offensive line had one  holding penalty( Chris Gray) and it was declined. Hasselbeck was sacked  four times for  -36 yards. Two of the sacks were coverage sacks. Grade B

DEFENSIVE LINE: Cedric Woodard started for the injured Norman Hand and played a superb game. The D line had Marshall Faulk( 15 carries 31 yards) in check before his injury. Lamar Gordon was ineffective as  Faulk's replacement. GRADE A

LINEBACKERS: Randall Godfrey was steady in the middle, while Chad Brown and Anthony Simmons showed their speed in the Hawks gap defense. Anthony Simmons interception with 3:22 left in the game opened the door for the offensive to pull of it's late game heroics.  Grade  A

SECONDARY: The Rams high flying offense was a whirl wind in the first half and found it's self grounded in the second half. The Seahawks threw man coverage, two deep zones, nickel and dime packages at the Rams in hopes of confusing Ram quarterback Marc Bulger. Reggie Tongue had his third interception of the season. Marcus Trufant  finished the game with a  team high  eight tackles.  Ken Hamlin was second with five.

Grade  A.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Josh Brown missed a 35 yard field but made up for it by hitting the game winning extra point. The  punt return allowed for returns for just 25 yards. Punter Rouen had a net average of  39.9 yards. Maurice returned four kickoffs for a 20.5 average. Grade B

COACHING:  The  Offenses adjustments lead to the win . Mike Holmgren's 4th down  pass play call was a puzzler. One think is clear, Mike Holmgren is out coaching his opponents. The defense held the Rams to just six second half points.

Grade A
