Seahawks go 7-0 at home.

The Seattle Seahawks offense picked up where it left off last week and the Seattle defense showed great improvement in a 34 to 7 win over the Cleveland Browns.


 Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck passed for 328 yards, three touchdowns and completed 26 passes on 35 attempts to lead the Seattle offense.

Seattle finished the day with 463 yards (306 passing, 157 rushing) on offense

  The Seattle offense scored early and often.

The Seahawks offense took the opening drive and drove 74 yards to score on a two yard touchdown pass   from Matt Hasselbeck to Ituli Mili to take a 7-0 lead with 3:19.

 Reggie Tongue sacked Cleveland quarterback Kelly Holcomb and forced a fumble that was recovered by Chad Brown and the Seattle offense turned the turnover to a 10-0 lead after a 36-yard field by Josh Brown.

Brown had missed earlier on a 48-yard attempt.

  The Seattle defense came up big and stopped the Cleveland offense on three downs on it's next possession and Seattle went up 17 to 0 on a two yard pass play from Matt Hasselbeck to Darrell Jackson with 10:19 gone in the first Half.

  Reggie Tongue forced his second fumble of the game and rookie Rashard Moore recovered the errand ball on the Cleveland 43 yard line.

Cleveland defensive lineman Kenard Lang intercepted a Matt Hasselbeck pass intended for Mack Strong to give the ball back to the Cleveland offense with 1:45 left in the first half.

The Seattle defense made another defensive stand as Chike Okeafor sacked Kelly Holcomb to end the first half. " We are just trying to fly around and finish." Okeafor said after the game. " We are working on our craft, we are trying to make the plays when we have the opportunity."

The Seattle offense scored seventeen straight points to start the second half and put the game away.

Matt Hassebeck hit Darrell Jackson on a 26-yard strike, Josh Brown converted a 41-yard field goal and Shaun Alexander finished the scoring spree with a 3 yard run after the offense received the ball via a Ken Lucas interception of a Kelly Holcomb at the Seattle 17 yard line.

" We are still growing and I like that." Alexander said of his team's offensive performance.

" It is one of those things where we really think we can put a lot of points and yards up a game and we're heading in the right direction."

Cleveland Andre King picked up a botched Tom Rouen punt and ran it 28 yards for a touchdown to avert a Cleveland shut out with 3:23 left in the game.

Seattle ran the game clock down to 1:14 and punted giving the Browns the ball with 1:07 left.The game ended on Kelly Holcomb to Dennis Northcutt pass.

   Game Notes:

Shaun Alexander finished the game with 127 rushing yards on 27 attempts. Alexander has 1034 yards on 245 attempts for the season, giving him three consecutive 1000-yard seasons. Mack Strong's 56 receiving yards on four catches was a career high. Darrell Jackson finished the day with 8 receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns to mark the sixth time in his career he has had multiple touchdowns in a game.Alex Banister made his first catch of the season in the first half.
