Ruskell tabbed as new team president

After an extensive search that had fans and pundits alike scratching their heads, the Seattle Seahawks have apparently hired Atlanta assistant general manager Tim Ruskell as their new team president.

CBS Sportsline reported early Tuesday morning that Ruskell accepted the job late Monday night and that Ruskell will be announced soon as the director of the team's football operations.

Ruskell worked in Atlanta last year after a long tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in which he worked for Bucs GM Rich McKay. Terms of Ruskell's contract will be announced by the team later today but it is thought that he signed a five year deal that will pay him between $1.5 and $2 million per year.

Also, it is being reported that the Seahawks fired GM Bob Ferguson late Monday as well.

Seahawks.NET will have more later today when specifics of Ruskell's courtship with the team are announced.
