Seattle Seahawks 2005 Schedule Released
The NFL released the 2005 schedules for all 32 teams today at 11am Pacific. The Seahawks have 4 nationally-televised games this year including a ESPN Sunday Night Game at home against the Texans on October 16th as well as a Monday Night Football game at Philadelphia on December 5th.
The other two are Saturday, Christmas Eve at home against the Colts on CBS and New Year's Day at Green Bay. The Seahawks start out their season on the longest road trip of their schedule when they face the Jaguars Sunday, September 11th.
They will have to wait until Sunday, October 9th to begin their qwest to avenge the 3 losses against the Rams. A task made more difficult when it is the second of back-to-back road games in October (where they face the Redskins October 2nd).
The Seahawks bye doesn't come until October 30th, which is later than usual for what they've been used to. Immediately following the bye it's a NFC West divisional showdown where they travel to Arizona, come back to face the Rams at Qwest Field and down to the Bay to face the 49ers.
From our vantage point, the schedule is a daunting task, but with a revamped and recharged defense and an offense returning most of it's talented cast, we think they are up to the challenge to become the first Seahawks team in franchise history to make the playoffs three consecutive years in a row.
