Update: Rhodes has experienced dizzy spells

Several news sources revealed today that Seahawks defensive coordinator Ray Rhodes has been suffering from recurring dizzy spells, and that the spells were the reason for his hospitalization.

Rhodes was hospitalized on Sunday. Although scheduled to be released from the hospital today (Tuesday), Rhodes has been told by his doctors to rest and undergo more tests. At this time, the cause of Rhodes' dizziness, if diagnosed, has not been made public.

Linebackers coach John Marshall, who served as Carolina's defensive coordinator from 1999 through 2001, will serve as interim defensive coordinator when the Seahawks travel to Jacksonville for their Sunday season opener. Marshall told media after today's practice that he will be installing Rhodes' game plan, and that he is in frequent contact with Rhodes.
