Last Week
1
The NFL's only remaining undefeated team hosts the porous St. Louis pass defense on Monday Night. Payton Manning could be looking at a career night.
1
2
The Steelers continue to grind out tough victories on the road. Even without Big Ben, the Steelers are favored at home.
2
3
Denver didn't look dominant last week, but they won. You'll be hearing a lot more about the Broncos from the national press if they manage to knock of the Pats this weekend.
6
4
Tom Brady and Adam Vinatieri always seem to come through in the clutch.
7
5
Philly heads into the bye after a crushing defeat in Dallas.
3
6
The Giants come out of the bye tied for the lead in the division with everyone else in the division. They play in Dallas this week. The Giants have the highest scoring offensive in the NFL. Dallas' O is in the Top Ten. Can you say "Game of the Week"?
10
7
Seattle finally closed out a road game with a win. The fact that it was in St. Louis vs the rival Rams and earned them an early season division lead, made it that much sweeter for the Seahawks.
12
8
Cincinnatti is 4-1 but they haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet.
4
9
Atlanta had the reigning Champs on the ropes but couldn't seal the deal. No worries, though, as they head down to San Antonio to take on the lowly Saints.
8
10
San Diego couldn't get the ground game going and lost a tough one at home. They'll look to rebound this weekend in Oakland.
9
11
Handing the Bengals their first loss of the season moves the Jags up the charts.
14
12
The Cowboys absolutely dominated the Eagles last Sunday. If they can beat the Giants in Texas Stadium this Sunday, they will be the unquestioned kings of the NFC East.
16
13
The fact that the Bucs looked so awful without rookie sensation Cadillac Williams, doesn't bode well for them over the next few weeks.
5
14
Live by sword, die by the sword. The Redskins finally lost a close one.
11
15
Carolina needs to step it up on offense; they're in the bottom half of the league in both rushing and passing.
13
16
Kansas City has had two weeks to get their defensive house in order. There's no wiggle room as the Redskins bring the #8 offense to town.
14
17
The Bills got off the schnide by jumping out to an early lead and hanging on to win. Look for this week's game vs. the Jets to be the lowest scoring game of the week.
19
18
Nick Saban claims both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams will be starters this week, although it's unclear if he means they'll be in the backfield at the same time.
15
19
When your pass defense surrenders 299 yards and 2 TD's to a team that's missing it's #1 and #2 recievers, they stink. Next up, Payton Manning and national humiliation on Monday Night.
18
20
Trent Dilfer came through when his team needed it most and threw 2 fourth quarter touchdowns to earn Cleveland fans a rare home win.
21
21
Since nobody appears to be willing and able to take charge of this division, why not the Lions?
25
22
The Titans had little trouble dispatching the woeful Texans. They'll be challenged this week when they host the Division leading Bengals.
23
23
Costly penalties and a Kyle Orton fumble conspired to foil the Bears shot at first place in the putrid NFC North.
24
24
The Ravens can claim the ref "were out out to get us" all they want, but 21 penalties and two ejections (both for getting in ref's faces) say the team's over-hyped intensity is getting out of control. The refs will calling it tight this week, too, so they'd better get a grip ... fast.
22
25
The winner of this week's Vikings-Bears matchup may be the only thing left between Detroit and the divisional crown. I can't believe I just wrote that …
26
26
Look who finally woke up and joined the party. Not Brett Farve, who was stellar in a loss 10 days ago, but the defense who suddenly and without warning grew a set against the Saints.
29
27
Remind me again why Denny Green benched McCown in the middle of last season? Arizona still "missed it by that much", but they're nowhere near as helpless as they were with Warner under center.
27
28
The Raiders have a tough divisional game at home vs. the Chargers this week that ought to set the tempo for the next few weeks.
28
29
Vinny actually rallied the troops at home vs the previously undefeated Bucs. The Bills are a similar team, meaning the Jets have a shot at winning and ressurecting their season.
30
30
The loss of Duece McAllister, the only consistant member of the offense, for the season, spells doom for any hopes the Saints had of making the Playoffs.
17
31
San Francisco at least now has an excuse for poor play -- their rookie QB is learning the ropes. It will, however, pay dividends down the road. But for now, it's painful to watch.
31
32
Seven sacks given up and 0-13 on third down against the Titans.
