Alexander Wins NFL MVP Award

Shaun Alexander's magic season continued today with the announcement that he has won the league's positional top honors beating out Peyton Manning and Tom Brady to become the NFL MVP.

ESPN is reporting the Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander was voted the NFL MVP by the Associated Press.

Alexander, who finished with a league and career-high 1,880 yards and a league-record 28 touchdowns. He becomes the first Seahawk to win the award and the first running back to win the award since Marshall Faulk won it in 2000.

Alexander finished with 19 votes. Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning had 13 votes, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady finished with 10 votes, New York Giants RB Tiki Barber had six and Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer got two.
