The Vikings have acknowledged that Burleson preferred to play in his hometown (Seattle) even though the Vikings allegedly offered Nate more money than he is likely to receive as a Seahawk.
The Seahawks are relieved that the Vikings did not challenge their poison-pill clauses in the offer sheet, which was a direct retaliation for the Vikings usage of such clauses in their contract with former Seahawks All Pro LG Steve Hutchinson.
Burleson figures to play
a prominant role in the Seahawks already relatively deep WR corps. He will likely
become the #2 receiver opposite Darrell Jackson, which moves Bobby Engram back
to the slot position which he excels in. Look for an official announcement and
contract signing sometime next week. Stay tuned to Seahawks.NET as we will be
bringing you all the latest team news and transactions.
