THE .NET REPORT
Scott Eklund: Any follower of the Seahawks had to know they were going to look at taking a punter late in the Draft this year and Wake Forest's Ryan Plackemeier was the best in the country last year. He averaged a eye-popping 47.2 yards per attempt while booming one for 82 yards and dropped 20 of his 67 punts inside the 20. He gets great hangtime and is a good directional punter in addition to his strong leg. He also can help out with kickoff duties should the Hawks decide they aren't satisfied with K Josh Brown's efforts in this area. Plackemeier has to be the favorite to win the punting job heading into training camp. Great pickup by the Hawks.
