Saturday Spotlight - Week One

It's the kickoff to the college football season this weekend, which means that a lot of NFL Draft prospects will be taking the field to do their best to win a championship while also impressing pro scouts. Scott Eklund and Doug Farrar sat down on Thursday to take a look at four matchups, and the prospects fans should be looking for while watching the games this weekend.

Our first segment took a look at two matchups – Arizona at BYU and Oklahoma State at Georgia.

Arizona has a lot of defensive talent, while BYU, doing their best to make up for the losses to graduation this past spring, have very few pro prospects but they play good team defense and have one of the best head coaches in the country in Bronco Mendenhall.

Oklahoma State has one of the most talented players in the country at wide receiver and they also have some outstanding talent at quarterback and running back.

In Part Two of the opening week preview, we came back with what is likely to be the best matchup of the day on Saturday as Tennessee ventures to Strawberry Canyon to take on the California Golden Bears at Memorial Stadium.

We also took a look at the last game of the weekend – a Labor Day tilt that will have Bobby Bowden and the Florida State Seminoles taking on his son Tommy Bowden and the Clemson Tigers in Death Valley.
