Combine Preview Podcast with Rob Rang

With the 2008 Scouting Combine fast approaching, it was time to get a sense of where things are pre-draft with out favorite draft analyst, Rob Rang of Doug Farrar takes Rob through many different questions in this enlightening back-and-forth, and Rob replies with his usual aplomb. This is a must for Seahawks.NET draft followers!

Among the questions asked:

Now that the seasons and the All-Star games are done, how important is each aspect of the pre-Combine scouting process?

Which players need stellar Combine performances to save their stock after disappointing performances in those All-Star games?

Are there players that you think will look less than optimal in Combine tests, but will outshine the "big numbers guys" on the field?

Beyond the obvious standouts during the Senior Bowl week, who did you see there that confirmed your belief in their abilities?

For the Seahawks, the needs are pretty obvious -- running back, tight end, and at least one offensive line position. Who are the best fits for Seattle?

Hypothetical -- let's say that the Seahawks let Marcus Trufant go -- would that change their draft strategy and force them to go cornerback in the first round again, or do you think they'd go with Kelly Jennings and a veteran?

Who are your favorite second-day sleepers this year?

As is always the case when we talk to Rob, this is mandatory listening for all you draftniks. Click on the link below to enjoy this 35-minute audio feature!
