Blitz Packages

One thing I'll be looking at this season is the number of pass rushers the Seahawks will send at opposing offenses, as well as the number of pass rushers the Seahawks offensive line will have to account for this season.

Notes: Three of Seattle's four blitzes were zone blitzes, with All-Pro defensive end Patrick Kerney dropping into coverage twice. Seattle brought a maximum of 5 rushers on their blitzes. Buffalo kept 6 blockers in on three of the four Seahawk blitzes. Trent Edwards was 3-4 for 21 yards against the blitz. Two of his three completions produced a 1st down. Seattle was also caught in a run blitz on Marshawn Lynch's 21-yard touchdown run in the 1st quarter.

Against the blitz, Matt Hasselbeck was 5-15 for 67 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He was sacked three times for a loss of 14 yards, placing Hasselbeck's passer rating at 39.0 against the blitz.
