Hasselbeck Still Not Cleared to Play

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said Tuesday a doctor has not cleared him to play because of a leg problem stemming from a bulging disk in his back.

According to the Associated Press, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck told 710 KIRO radio in Seattle that while he doesn't need surgery to repair a leg problem caused by a bulging disk in his back, he has not yet been cleared to play.

Hasselbeck visited Dr. Robert G Watkins, a noted Los Angeles-area back surgeon on Monday morning.

"Because of the disk issue in my back that nerve is shutting off the muscles that are supposed to work in your leg", Hasselbeck said.

With Hasselbeck not cleared to play, Seneca Wallace will make his 3rd straight start for the Seahawks, who host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Qwest Field.
