Greg Knapp to Coordinate Seahawks Offense

Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp will be named the new Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator.

Scout.com has confirmed the NFL Network report that the Seattle Seahawks will hire Greg Knapp to be their new offensive coordinator.

Per team policy, no official announcement will be made until a contract is signed, but the addition of Knapp as the team's offensive coordinator has been expected ever since Jim Mora was named as outgoing head coach Mike Holmgren's successor last off-season.

Mora and Knapp coached together on Steve Mariucci's staff in San Francisco, with Mora coordinating the defense and Knapp coordinating the offense from 2001-03. When Mora was hired to be the Atlanta Falcons head coach in 2004, he chose Knapp to be his offensive coordinator.

Knapp is a disciple of Bill Walsh's West Coast Offense and has been the Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator the last two seasons.
