Seahawks Nab Houshmandzadeh

The Vikings thought they had him, but at the last minute, T.J. Houshmandzadeh hops on a plane and soon after agrees to a 5-year deal with the Seahawks. Stick that in your poison pills, Minny!

ESPN's John Clayton reports that the Seahawks have signed prized free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh. In a move Seahawks fans can't help but get excited about, Houshmandzadeh is a proven wide receiver who will immediately offer an upgrade to the receiving corp.

In a last-minute ditch Seahawks fans can't help but smirk about, Houshmandzadeh ended up snubbing the Minnesota Vikings at the last minute to choose Seattle.

Stick that up your poison pill Minnesota!

The deal is allegedly offered at just over $40 million for five years with $15 million guaranteed.

The pro bowl receiver caught 204 passes for 2,043 yards and 16 touchdowns over the past two seasons playing for the Bengals. The 6-foot-1, 189-pound receiver had a 90-catch season in 2006. He tied for the league receptions lead in 2007 with 112 catches and earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl.

It is not known at this time if the Seahawks will retain Bobby Engram.
