The Seattle Seahawks have announced that they have signed seventh round defensive end Nick Reed (Oregon) to a four-year contract.
NorthwestFootball.net has confirmed that Reed received a signing bonus of around $41,600.
Reed (6-2, 247) was chosen 247th overall after setting the Oregon school record in quarterback sacks with 29.5, the fourth-most in Pac-10 history. Reed was a first-team All-American in 2008 after being named to the second-team All-American in 2007. Reed also earned All-Pac 10 honors in 2007 and 2008 and was a first-team Academic All-American in 2007 and 2008, as well.
Reed joins sixth round quarterback Mike Teel and seventh round safety Courtney Greene as the three Seahawks' draft choices who have signed contracts. Still unsigned are first round linebacker Aaron Curry, second round center Max Unger, third round wide receiver Deon Butler, and seventh round tight end Cameron Morrah.
