According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, the Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent running back Edgerrin James to a one-year, $2M deal.

James, a four-time Pro Bowler, has ran for 12,121 yards and 80 touchdowns in his ten-year career, while adding 430 receptions, 3,345 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver out of the backfield. He is the NFL's active leader in rushing attempts and yards, and ranks 11th all-time in rushing yards, 122 behind Hall of Fame running back Marcus Allen.

The former first-round pick (4th overall) by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1999 NFL Draft is coming off his worst season as a pro, running for 514 yards and 3 touchdowns on 133 carries. James lost his starting job midway through the 2008 season, before regaining the top job during the post-season, running for 236 yards and a touchdown during the Cardinals' Super Bowl run.

James, 31, asked for and was granted his release by the Arizona Cardinals earlier this off-season.
