The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have released four players, including former Western Washington linebacker Shane Simmons.
Also released on Sunday were defensive tackle Kevin Brown, fullback Dan Curran, and tight end John Tereshinksi.
Brown, an undrafted free agent from UCLA, spent some time on the Seahawks practice squad in 2008. Curran, a first-year player from the University of New Hampshire, hasn't played an offensive snap since the team's preseason opener against San Diego.
Tereshinski, who joined the team in the off-season, had fallen behind Cameron Morrah and Joe Newton on the depth chart.
The Seahawks have until 4pm ET on September to reach the NFL-mandated 75-man roster limit. Currently, they have 76 players under contract
