Seahawks Snap Counts

A look at the number of offensive and defensive snaps each Seattle Seahawks player logged during their 31-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. These snap counts do not include special teams plays, as broadcast limitations make charting those plays difficult. Plays nullified by penalty are not counted, either.

The Seahawks' defense has showed a 3-2-6 or 3-1-7 look 18 times this season, fourteen against the Arizona Cardinals. Against it, Warner is 13-of-14 for 117 yards, with one touchdown and an interception. Yesterday, Warner was 7-for-7 for 64 yards and a touchdown when Seattle showed this defensive formation.

When Seattle blitzed Warner—defined for these purposes and sending more than 4 pass rushers—Warner was 5-of-6 for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The lone incompletion came on the Marcus Trufant interception in the end zone that was overturned by replay. On that play, Deon Grant was pressuring Warner, and while I counted that as a "blitz", it's more like that Grant was reading run and found himself in the backfield, as opposed to it being a called attempt to put pressure on Warner.

Overall, Seattle has gone with 6 or 7 defensive backs on 44 official snaps this season. Opposing quarterbacks are 31-of-42 for 325 yards, with a touchdown, two interceptions, two quarterback sacks (Patrick Kerney, Josh Wilson), with one scramble for 3 yards. (By Warner on Sunday)
