Seahawks do the right thing

The Seattle Seahawks front office once again showed that they are keeping their wits about them when all others are losing theirs and doubting them. The team announced that they have hired Ray Rhodes as their new defensive coordinator.

The signing of Rhodes reunites him with Head Coach Mike Holmgren. Rhodes was Holmgrens defensive coordinator from 1992-1993 in Green Bay. Under Rhodes leadership the Packer defense improved to second in the league. Rhodes has enjoyed 11 seasons in the National Football League as a head coach or defensive coordinator. Rhodes began his coaching career in 1981 with the 49ers as an assistant secondary coach. "Ray is an excellent defensive football coach and has an impressive track record of improving defenses," said Seahawks Head Coach Mike Holmgren. Prior to joining the Seahawks Rhodes spent two years in Denver, as it's defensive coordinator. Rhodes took the 24th ranked defense and improved its defense to 8th in the league after just two seasons. Top Stories
