The Seattle Seahawks have acquired running back LenDale White from the Tennessee Titans.
In addition to White, the Seahawks receive defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson from the Titans, and the teams will swap fourth- and sixth-round picks in this year's draft.
White, a second-round pick (45th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft, played for Pete Carroll at USC. The 6-1, 235-pound White ran for 1,110 yards in 2007, and scored 15 touchdowns as the short-yardage back for the Titans in 2008. At 6-1 and 235 pounds, White gives the Seahawks a power back to pair with smaller, faster backs Julius Jones and Justin Forsett.
In 58 career games, White has rushed for 2,349 yards and 24 touchdowns, and caught 42 passes for 204 yards.
A seventh-round pick out of Michigan State by the Miami Dolphins 2005, Vickerson (6-4, 305) spent his rookie season on injured reserve, and did not appear in a game during his second season with the Dolphins. Waived prior to the 2007 season, the Titans signed Vickerson to the practice squad midway through the '07 season, and activated for the final four games, where Vickerson totaled three games.
In 2008, Vickerson posted 14 tackles and 1.5 quarterback sacks, and was also suspended four games for violating the NFL's steroid policy. Last season, Vickerson started two of 13 games, totaling 28 tackles and getting seven hits on opposing quarterbacks.
Both Vickerson and White were restricted free agents this off-season, who were tendered at the "Second Round" level, which carry $1.759 million dollar base salaries in 2010.
The Titans used the 104th pick on UCLA cornerback Alterraun Verner, while the Seahawks chose Oregon cornerback Walter Thurmond with the 111th pick.
