Schedule Out, Predictions In

Steel City Insider's Jim Wexell goes with his first reaction in predicting the Steelers' season.

The first reaction's the best reaction, so let's run down this year's Pittsburgh Steelers schedule with fresh eyes and come up with 16 predictions:

* Sunday, Sept. 10 at Cleveland (1 p.m.) -- A new era, another blowout, Steelers 41-10.

* Sunday, Sept. 17 vs. Minnesota (1 p.m.) -- Another team that doesn't have a quarteback, Steelers 30-17.

* Sunday, Sept. 24 at Chicago (1 p.m.) -- The first two games aren't nearly as emotional as last year's first two, Steelers 27-13.

* Sunday, Oct. 1 at Baltimore (1 p.m.) -- Tough place to play as we fire the coach, Ravens 24-23.

* Sunday, Oct. 8 vs. Jacksonville (1 p.m.) -- Bounce back from tough loss as Tyson Alualu goes off against old team, Steelers 27-14.

* Sunday, Oct. 15 at Kansas City (4:25 p.m.) -- Have to go with revenge from playoff loss, Chiefs 20-18.

* Sunday, Oct. 22 vs. Cincinnati (1 p.m.) -- Blood match goes to the team with the better QB, Steelers 27-24.

* Sunday, Oct. 29 at Detroit (8:30 p.m.) -- Loud primetime dome crowd after back-to-back blood matches equals bad spot, Lions 24-20.

* Sunday, Nov. 12 at Indianapolis (1 p.m.) -- They have Indy's number, Steelers 33-23.

* Thursday, Nov. 16 vs. Tennessee (8:25 p.m.) -- Dick LeBeau returns with QB Marcus Mariota in his third year makes it tough, Steelers 20-17.

* Sunday, Nov. 26 vs. Green Bay (8:30 p.m.) -- Ten days between games at the right time of the year, Steelers 34-31.

* Monday, Dec. 4 at Cincinnati (8:30 p.m.) -- Blood match goes to the team with the better QB, Steelers 17-14.

* Sunday, Dec. 10 vs. Baltimore (8:30 p.m.) -- Revenge game off a Monday nighter, Steelers 14-13.

* Sunday, Dec. 17 vs. New England (4:25 p.m.) -- Going with the playoff revenge in this game for AFCCG home field advantage, Steelers 38-35.

* Monday, Dec. 25 at Houston (4:30 p.m.) -- Off brutal three-game stretch, bad spot against a good team, Texans 27-24.

* Sunday, Dec. 31 vs. Cleveland (1 p.m.) -- End the 2017 season the way you began it, Steelers 27-17.

It adds up to another AFC North Championship with a 12-4 record, which should get them at least a first-round bye.

All they have to do now is stay healthy.
