Burress, Smith, Riemersma questionable

The Steelers could go into Sunday night's showdown with the Cleveland Browns at a disadvantage as head coach Bill Cowher listed three starters as questionable for the game.

Cowher said wide receiver Plaxico Burress (hip pointer), tight end Jay Riemersma (shoulder) and left tackle Marvel Smith (shoulder) are 50-50 to play against the Browns, as is backup linebacker Clint Kreiwaldt (knee).

Much will depend on whether those players are able to practice this week. All four will likely take Wednesday's practice off, but will need to return to practice Thursday or Friday to get the green light to play. Also on the injury list are linebacker James Farrior (gluteus injury) and right tackle Todd Fordham (knee). Both are probable.

Despite the fact the Browns have struggled moving the ball this season, Cowher said he expects them to come out in the spread offense that was so successful against the Steelers in last year's playoff game.

"There's no reason to believe they won't do that," Cowher said.
