<li>Arkansas senior running back Cedric Cobbs has seen a rise in his NFL
stock. He carried the ball 36 times for 198 yards, both career highs, and
scored 1 touchdown in the Razorbacks come from behind win against Alabama.
This is Cobbs fourth game over the century mark this season. Scouts are now
rethinking their position on Cobbs, formerly considered a potential
franchise running back in 1999 but a draft afterthought coming into the
season after a rash of injuries and off the field problems.
Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang completed a record 42 of 70 passes for 397
yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors victory over Rice Saturday night.

record. The old records were previously held by Dan Robinson of Hawaii who
set them in 1999 against Navy. Chang did not throw an interception in the 70
attempts. He is high on the junior watch list of NFL scouts.

passing in four of his five games. He's completing almost 80 percent of his
passes and has thrown 12 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
Michael Turner rushed for 134 yards on 30 carries to become Northern Illinois all-time leading rusher. Turner has 3,807 career rushing yard
yards, also stands first in all-purpose yards (4,761) for the school. He has
been the catalyst for NIU's 5-0 start and is soaring up draft boards. Many
scouts are now considering Turner as first round material.

after he intercepted his fourth pass in as many games. Hored Frogs head
coach Gary Patterson described Godbolt's injury as "not good," and
more would be known about its severity today. Godbolt is on the junior watch
list for most NFL teams.
California senior wide out Jonathan Makonnen will have season ending
surgery on a stress fracture in his foot, an injury that occurred during the
first game of 2003 when the Bears lost to Kansas State. Since the injury
occurred in late August Makonnen has yet to take the field. A potential late
round choice in next April's draft, Makonnen will now apply for a redshirt
season and return to Berkley for a fifth year in 2004.
Maryland senior running back Bruce Perry may again be on the shelf after
he reinjured his ankle Saturday against Eastern Michigan. He is again
questionable for Saturday's home game against Clemson and NFL scouts are
dropping his rating due to the constant injury time missed the past two

is out for an undetermined amount of time with a shoulder sprain and will
not play Saturday against Buffalo. Schneider went down in the second half

comparing the Texas junior to Ravens All Pro Ray Lewis.

next April, hurt his knee last weekend but a recent MRI shower no damage.
Colorado State senior linebacker Eric Pauly is lost for the season after
suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the Rams loss to Utah on
Saturday, the Denver Post reported Tuesday. A fifth year senior who relied
on speed, Pauly may be hard pressed to find a place to play next season.
North Carolina quarterback Darian Durant continues to set Tar Heel
quarterback records. He became UNC's career completion leader and moved into
second place on the UNC career passing yardage list as Durrant is only 98
yards shy of Ronald Curry's record. Scouts are keeping an eye on Durant whom
they feel is a legitimate NFL quarterback prospect.

quarter with a shoulder injury and is questionable for this weekends contest
against Kansas State.
Scott Hall has reassumed the job as North Texas' starting quarterback
after spending the first four weeks of the season in a rotation system with

against the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette, Hall responded with a 222
yard, three touchdowns performance.
Oklahoma junior offensive tackle Jammal Brown grades out as the highest
Sooner lineman this season and has yet to yield as sack.
No date has been set for the return of Texas A&M junior offensive
lineman Jami Hightower, though he's been practicing. Originally slated to
red-shirt, the Aggies have been suffering in the offensive line which may
force Hightower back into the line-up.
Pittsburgh senior defensive end Claude Harriott, one of the best pass
rushing prospects in the nation, went down with an ankle injury in the third
quarter in the Panthers victory over Texas A&M. He was carted off the
field but with a bye week at hand, should be ready to play when the Panthers
return to the field in two weeks. Harriott will be a first round pick in
next April's draft.
Pittsburgh sophomore receiver Larry Fitzgerald was named the Big East
Conference co-offensive player of the week for his 135-yard, three-touchdown
performance against the Texas A&M on Saturday. Though his draft status
is still "up in the air" he is considered one of the top three
receiving prospects in the nation by NFL scouts.
Colorado State center Mark Dreyer missed two games with a torn tendon in
his right hand and though back in the lineup but must play the rest of the
season with a cast that forces him to snap left-handed.
Tight end Joel Dreessen's torn abdominal muscle will likely force him to
the sidelines again on Saturday against Fresno State.
Fresno State quarterback Paul Pinegar practiced for the first time Tuesday
since tearing a chest muscle in the preseason. The sophomore hopes to play
in Saturday's game at Colorado State, though Jeff Grady will start. Pinegar
is one of many underclassmen quarterbacks on the NFL's watch list.
Pittsburgh Panther starting middle linebacker Lewis Moore suffered a neck
injury in the second quarter during the victory of Texas A&M Saturday.
Coach Walt Harris commented on the situation saying, there was no timetable
for Moore's return and it was a wait and see situation. Moore is considered
a solid middle round choice in next April's NFL Draft.
Tuesday senior wide receiver Jeremiah Cockheran of Hawaii was not
practicing courtesy of a sprained right ankle. Cockheran hopes he will be
able to play Saturday against Rice. Cockheran is one of Hawaii's best
receivers and considered late round talent in next April's draft.

Jones as a first round pick in the NFL Draft, suffered a partial tear of the
medial collateral ligament and will probably miss two games.
During the second quarter of last night's game at the Orange Bowl,
redshirt sophomore Frank Gore went down with a serious knee injury. At first
classified as a sprain, Gore left the stadium on crutches and is scheduled
for an MRI today to find the extent of the injury.
Texas defensive coordinator Carl Reese said earlier this week that
linebacker Derrick Johnson will probably draw the assignment of spying on
Kansas State running back Darren Sproles. Johnson's draft ranking could soar
even higher if the UT junior contains Sproles, who is averaging 110 yards
per game rushing. Most NFL scouts have Johnson as the top rated
Florida State senior linebacker Kendyll Pope will be able to go next
weekend when the Seminoles take on Miami up in Tallahassee. Pope hurt his
knee several weeks ago after he heard a "pop" sound in the joint.

against Iowa State after missing the UCLA game with a pulled thigh muscle.
Strait is considered the top senior cornerback prospect by NFL scouts.

An undersized pass rush specialist, James was considered a late round pick
in next April's NFL Draft.
