Another OL Hurt, Depth in Question

With Marvel Smith already out for Sunday's game at Denver, the Steelers got another unwelcome injury during practice Wednesday.

Offensive tackle Mathias Nkwenti went down with back spasms and did not return to practice. Head coach Bill Cowher could not say if Nkwenti would return Thursday.

The injury leaves the Steelers with just two healthy tackles on their active roster, Todd Fordham and Oliver Ross. The team also has rookie Morgan Pears on its practice squad.

Cornerback Chad Scott also missed practice Wednesday to attend the funeral of his mother who died Friday.

In other news, the Steelers released linebacker James Harrison from their practice squad and re-signed safety Russell Stuvaints.
