The Steelers are in great debate and the free agent signing period could become eventful for the team.

The organization has discussed signing St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger to an offer sheet next week. The Rams tendered the quarterback at the highest option, which would require the team which agrees to terms of a contract Bulger to provide the Rams with a first and third-round draft selection, if St. Louis does not match the offer.

Additionally, according to league sources, the Steelers have discussed the availability of wide receiver Plaxico Burress with the New York Jets. Though the discussions are believed to be serious, the word coming out of New York is the Jets have offered a second-round draft selection and running back Lamont Jordan for Burress.
