We won today and it was a sound victory. We came out of the blocks fast, but it was kind of sloppy down at the end. I know there are some areas we have to correct. We're gonna go down to Dallas and try to come out with a good game plan, then hit the bye week after that and then I guess start all over. You could say the first half of the season would be over at that point.
GVB: A lot of people told me that what happened to the Steelers on defense last year was a little bit of an aberration. Now this team has forced twelve turnovers, you're leading the AFC in turnovers. Talk about what's going on with this defense.
Haggans: We're just putting pressure on the quarterback and having him try to force mistakes that he doesn't want to make, obviously. We're just trying to force errors and any way we can benefit from that we're going to. A fumble, an interception, anything-just trying to come out there and play football the best that we know how.
GVB: A couple of guys said it's really meshing, too, because both sides of the ball seem to be feeding off one another. The offense does some things, the defense…sometimes it didn't happen that way last year.
Haggans: Last year we got lost. Sometimes we got bad breaks and we couldn't get out of them. This year…you left out the special teams; big hits on special teams, big returns. Ricardo had a big return to start the game. That fed the offense and it got the crowd into the game. Right there I guess set the tempo for what the game was gonna be about today.
GVB: Just keeping stacking one on top of the other. One game at a time.
Haggans: That's it. We're just taking it one weekend at a time. Everything, at the end of the season, we'll look back and see what happened, but right now we're in the middle of it and we're not looking forward to anything. We're just thinking about Dallas now.
GVB: Thanks a lot, Clark.
Haggans: All right.
